Blog Journal #8
While working on the web design assignment, I learned some valuable things and I was able to practice some of the things that were already covered in class. Knowing how to properly attribute images was something I was able to practice while doing this assignment. This assignment gave me a chance to practice operated my own website and I will use this in practice to put information corresponding to my class, such as posting the syllabus, a class schedule, or my PowerPoints.

I initially had a hard time understanding Diigo, but now that I understand it I see how it is beneficial. I can see this being useful in a class setting for students to share resources pertaining to a group project. I can use this site in my own classes to collaborate with my classmates and I would hope that my students would use it in a similar fashion. Using the sticky notes on a document are very useful for a group to collectively analyze and annotate a reading for a class.

This a link to eLearning Industry. This is a website with access to articles on all different topics of technology in education. This site has a tab for articles and that leads to a dropdown that provides different categories of articles, such as design and development as well as trends. The trends tab is very useful because it consolidates all the articles into an easy to access page that I can explore easily, and the articles come with information before you even open them such as who wrote it and if the article is sponsored or not.
Hi David. Love your website. I think it is perfectly balanced between being fun and educational for both students and parents. It was very easy to navigate and I appreciated you including specific school programs and even a little bio about yourself. Overall, your design is straightforward for all users/audiences.
ReplyDeleteHey David!
ReplyDeleteI thought that your blog looked really nice!
Contrast: For the most part, you did a good job making the text contrast with the background, and it was easy to read your website. However, on your home screen banner I thought it was a little hard to read because of the banner picture partially matching the text color, but I only saw that problem there.
Repetition: I liked how you used colored backgrounds to make your text pop, however I do think that it would make your blog more consistent and well put together if you chose one color to use for every slide.
Alignment: Your blog's text didn't have any alignment issues, including in areas where there were images around the text.
Proximity: Given the amount of text on each page, I thought you had good spacing that didn't make your blog look too cluttered.
Hi David, I liked your website. I think that you did a good job following the CRAP principles. However, on certain pages some of your text was hard to read. I like how your pages were easy to navigate and follow through.
ReplyDeleteHey David, your blog is very bright with nice deep blue colors which I love. There is kind of a repetition to blog posts being aligned, but it is nicely aligned still. Which takes me to my next point in where it is nicely aligned with finding blog posts very easy. All the text is nicely spaced and easy to read.
ReplyDeleteHey David, I loved your website! I appreciate the different colors on each tab to separate them. However, on several pages where you use the gray text, it is difficult to read due to the lack of contrast. It may help to go through the user experience to resolve issues like that. Nonetheless, it was so easy to navigate!
